On Tuesday evening I attended a talk given at Roothing Valley by Philippa Naylor.

I admire her work enormously so this was a real treat.  Her talk was entertaining as well as hugely informative
about her life and her quilts.  It was wonderful to be able to see and handle her wonderful quilts

On the Wedensday I attended her workshop on machine quilitng and trapunto.  She's a wonderfult teacher, keen to encourage and bursting with tips
and hints.  It was an exhausting day but to be shown by an expert rather than working it out from a book was well worth it.  Clearly these are skills that
can be used on a long arm quilter as much as on a domestic sewing machine.

Such was the inspiration that I used trapunto and free motion quilting on a new bag for the web site.
